Alberto Lima is the HLA Laboratory Technical Coordinator at CHC/UFPR in Curitiba, and he also works as an HLA/HSCT Consultant at the Immunogenetics Institute (IGEN)/AFIP in São Paulo. Alberto holds a Ph.D. in Internal Medicine/HSCT, and is Board Certified in Histocompatibility by the Brazilian Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Association (ABHI). His research interests include the impact of donor-specific HLA antibodies (DSA) and HLA mismatches on HSCT outcomes using alternative donors (unrelated, cord blood, haploidentical). I also work on models of HLA-DPB1 permissiveness and use biostatistics and survival analyses to assess HSCT outcomes with HLA-mismatched donors.
