Amit Kalra is a budding scientist in the field of transplant immunology with a focus on translational research and a strong passion for teaching. Amit leads the Immunology and the Research & Development section of the Hematology Translational Lab at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. After completing his training as a physician from Grant Medical College, Mumbai, India, Amit pursued his passion for translational research completing a Masters` program at IIT Chicago, and PhD program at the University of Calgary. Amit has received several prestigious awards and fellowships over the course of his PhD training. His work focuses on translational research that can lead to advanced clinical testing pipelines for improving the outcomes of patients with hematological malignancies undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Amit has also mentored several high school and undergraduate students early in their career with the aim to encourage and develop an aptitude for scientific research.
