Maanika Nunugonda is a 23-year-old recent graduate from Tulane University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Sociology. During her time at Tulane, Maanika interned at an immunology lab at Tulane College of Medicine. After graduation, she joined the Immune Evaluation Lab at Baylor College of Medicine, where she took the lead on the GSTT gene transplant project. Maanika Nunugonda is the first author of the abstract titled "Heart transplant recipient with null alleles of GSTT1 contributes to rejection due to reintroduction of GSTT1 in the allograft," which is a detailed case study on the subject. She is enthusiastic about discussing the lab's findings and contributing to the field of medical research.
