Brian M. Freed is the Executive Director of ClinImmune Cell and Gene Therapy at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center and founder of RheumaGen. His laboratory produced the first human umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells to successfully treat chronic diabetic foot ulcers and obtained the first worldwide patent to edit the HLA gene to treat rheumatoid arthritis. He has been a member of ASHI for 43 years.
