With 16 years of experience in the field of Histocompatibility, Rebecca has fulfilled several roles in the Transplant Immunology and Immunogenetics Laboratory at UChicago Medicine. Currently in the role of Laboratory Supervisor, she oversees the daily operations of the clinical laboratory,
including support for both solid-organ and stem cell transplantation, immunogenetic testing, and ancillary support for blood bank donation. While knowledgeable in several areas of the laboratory, including flow cytometry, solid-phase antibody detection, and molecular assays, her
interests are in data analysis, teaching, development of professional skills and mentorship, and public policy.
She is a graduate of Indiana University, and has obtained several degrees including, a Certificate in Phlebotomy, an Associate’s of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, a Bachelor’s of General Studies, and a Master’s of Public Affairs with Concentration in Health Services Administration.
As a current member of ASHI, she has written several articles for the ASHI Quarterly, is a technologist mentor, and serves on several committees including: Technologists’ Affairs (Chair), Technologist Recruitment Taskforce, Quality Assurance & Standards, Proficiency Testing, and
National Clinical Affairs where she serves as the non-doctoral Public Policy Scholar.
