La Jolla Institute for Immunology
Throughout my career, my main interest has been studying the T-cell response to viral infections using bioinformatics and experimental approaches. Overall, I have co-authored 137 peer-reviewed publications during my scientific career, 30 of those as first or last/corresponding author with more than 21,000 citations, an h-index score of 44, and a i-10-index of 107. In 2016, I started my post-doctoral training at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology in the laboratory of Dr. Alessandro Sette where I was then promoted to Instructor in 2020. Due to my productive publication record and recognition of my overall research, I was appointed Assistant Professor at the beginning of 2023. The range of viral families I have studied in the past 11 years includes Flaviviridae, Coronaviridae, Orthopoxviridae, Herpesviridae and Retroviridae. I am now expanding my line of research to the Arenaviridae, Paramyxoviridae and Enteroviridae families. In general, my research focuses on preparedness against emerging viral infections.
