Dr. Sam Ho is the Laboratory Director at Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network. He also holds an adjunct faculty appointment as Associate Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Ho has been an active member of ASHI for many years and has served on various committees. Most recently, he is Program Director of the ASHI Accreditation Review Board (ARB), a member on the American College of Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics (ACHI) Board of Directors, and vice chair of the ACHI Laboratory Director Exam Committee. Aside from his passion in clinical laboratory science and transplant immunology, Dr. Ho has a keen interest in swine histocompatibility and immunogenetics. His research focuses on applying immunogenetic testing to facilitate the use of swine as large animal models for allotransplantation studies and as xenograft donors for human transplantation. Since 2010, he has been serving as Chair of the International Swine Leukocyte Antigen (SLA) Nomenclature Committee and Curator for the Immuno-Polymorphism SLA Database.
